We’re looking for an Accounting & Procurement Mentorwho can live and volunteer for 6 months in Kiribati.

  • This assignment seeks to ensure there are sound procurement and accounting processes, procedures, concepts and systems for effective and efficient use of public funds.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a degree in Accounting and Finance or similar field including experience with MYOB.
  • You will be working alongside staff building capacity in the areas of procurement and accounting so they can ensure that KGES fulfils its functions and meets its legal requirements.

About the Partner Organisation 

Kiribati Green Energy Solutions is the leading Government implementing agency in the energy sector dealing with any renewable energy initiatives in the country. The organisation, based in Betio, Tarawa Island, aims to establish itself as the most trusted partner in providing green energy solutions to Kiribati. The core objective is to broaden its scope in providing services with renewable energy including solar energy, wave energy, wind energy and other RE technologies that are applicable in Kiribati.

The organisation is wanting the volunteer to support the use of international best practice procurement and accounting processes, procedures and concepts and capacity building of staff to take this forward. As most funds are provided by donors it will ensure staff work effectively and efficiently in serving donors including the Government of Kiribati requirements.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include attaining a First Aid Certificate.
