About the assignment 

We’re looking for an Administration and Policy Mentor who can live and volunteer in Kiribati for 12 months. 

·     This assignment seeks to support the team to develop tools to better manage all NGOs in Kiribati and help ensure they can contribute to national development and promote inclusiveness in communities.

·     To be considered for this role, you’ll need Professional experience in NGO management and administration.

·     You will be working alongside local staff to support them to contribute successfully to the national development of NGOs in Kiribati.  

About the Partner Organisation: 

NGOs (Non-Government Organisation) was formally established in 2003, within the MISA (Ministry of Internal and Social Affairs). Based in Tarawa, the purpose of the NGO Division is to improve, support, empower and collaborate with recognized NGOs in Kiribati in order to improve the wellbeing of the communities in the country. Their main responsibilities are to register the organisations, help to empower them as well as assist in developing relevant policies for NGO development. The division also works to distribute resources, provide technical assistance and coordinate NGO engagement on behalf of the government, promoting collaboration between all parties.  

The volunteer would help to build capacity staff, as well as other officers in the department and ministry. They would assist to revise current policies and develop new ones, working to improve their effectiveness and efficiency.

AUD$ 2745 per month.   

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include a First Aid Certificate.
