We’re looking for a Allied Health and Therapy Management Mentor who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in country in South Africa for 12 months in total.

  • You’ll be supporting the implementation of training courses for therapists on the management of Cerebral Palsy so that the work is able to continue to be carried out well beyond the volunteer assignment
  • You’ll need a relevant qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and or Physio Therapy, as well as minimum 1 year experience in working with children with Cerebral Palsy and their families
  • You’ll gain the incredible opportunity to use your skills and experience to make lasting improvements to the Allied Health care system in South Africa with training and teaching local staff that would typically not have access to these skills.

About the Partner Organisation:

Malamulele Onward is a non-government organisation based in Johannesburg. They provide a range of services which include specialised therapy (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy), equipment and caregiver training and support for families affected by cerebral palsy. Services and training are provided to the people of poorly-resourced rural areas of South Africa and other African countries where children living with cerebral palsy have little or no access to rehabilitation therapy and equipment.

The mission of Malamulele Onward is to enable each child with cerebral palsy to reach their full potential within a supportive environment. This is a rewarding hybrid assignment that will see the volunteer volunteering making a lasting impact on the Allied Health care sector in South Africa.
