Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA) is looking for an Animal Shelter Management Advisor who can live and volunteer for 6 months in Indonesia.

  • This assignment aims to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and standard of care at shelter facilities. It seeks to upskill local shelter staff and enable them to maintain high standard procedures and protocols in shelter facilities. Other than that, this assignment will improve the knowledge, skills, and practices of existing veterinarian and vet nurse staff.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need to have a three to five years experience as a qualified veterinarian or vet nurse, and/or experience in managing a shelter or clinic.
  • As a volunteer, you will review BAWA's current shelter management operations, protocols, and standards to then identify areas of improvement. In addition, you will evaluate and oversee the operation of spay/neuter programs and Ambulance program protocols.

About the Partner Organisation

BAWA is a non-profit organisation registered in Indonesia and in the US, based in Bali, Indonesia.

The mission is to put compassion into action and create sustainable change for all animals in Bali, and the vision is for each village in Bali to be its own natural sanctuary for animals, where all lives are valued equally and treated with kindness and respect. Their work and programs aim to tackle animal welfare issues from all sides, directly relieving animal suffering, and influencing a positive shift in attitudes and behaviors towards animals to prevent cruelty before it occurs.
