We’re looking for a Climate Change Mentor who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 12 months. 


  • This assignment seeks to identify key priority areas and stakeholders for the Ministry at the intersection of gender and climate change
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need Master's degree in a relevant field (Climate Change, Environmental Science, Gender Studies)
  • You will be developing and implementing climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies that consider the specific vulnerabilities and needs of women and girls.


About the Partner Organisation 

The Ministry of Women’s Affairs is by definition the leading national machinery for the promotion of the status of women in Cambodia. It was established to lead, coordinate and facilitate efforts for gender equality and women’s empowerment in our country.Climate change disproportionately affects women and girls around the world. The Committee of Gender and Climate Change at the Ministry of Women's Affairs plays a crucial role in ensuring women's voices are heard and their needs are addressed in climate action plans and policies. MoWA are seeking a passionate and analytical Climate Change Mentor to join MoWA Gender and Climate Change team.

There are two allowances for a hybrid assignment.

The allowance for the in-country phase is AUD$ 2427 per month, the allowance for the remote phase is AUD$ 79 per month.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
