We’re looking for a Design, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Mentor who can live and volunteer for 8 months in Lae, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. 


  • This assignment seeks to enhance the quality and effectiveness of ADRA PNG’s programs by developing comprehensive monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks, log frames, and tools that align with program objectives and international standards. 
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a degree in International Development, Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, or a related field. 
  • As a volunteer, you will support capacity-building sessions and one-on-one mentorship for ADRA PNG staff to strengthen their skills in project monitoring, data collection, evaluation, and reporting, enhancing their overall capacity to manage programs effectively.

About the Partner Organisation 

ADRA PNG has been active in delivering community development projects in PNG since 1991; and continues to provide non-discriminatory community development services addressing livelihood development, economic development, water and sanitation, health, HIV, youth and women empowerment, peace building, education, emergency response, climate change and gender. 


ADRA PNG has established presence in four regions of PNG, Momase, NGI, Highlands and Southern and has projects that have been delivered that is impacting the lives of many ordinary rural communities. ADRA PNG projects deliver training, service delivery and advocacy actions that is community driven to address issues of capacities, improved service provisions and advocacy of key local issues. 


ADRA PNG has developed stronger experience and expertise in key sectors and in various subsectors, specifically in Health, Education, Water and Sanitation, Emergency Response, Economic and Livelihood Development, HIV, Gender, Youth Resilience, Empowerment and Governance. 


The volunteer mentor will provide specialized knowledge and capacity building that local staff cannot yet fully implement on their own, ensuring long-term sustainability of these practices. By building the skills and confidence of the local team, the DMEL Mentor will enable ADRA PNG to manage its programs more effectively and independently in the future, creating lasting improvements in program outcomes.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  
  • First Aid Certificate
