We’re looking for a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management - Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (DRRM-CCAM) IT who can live and volunteer for 12 months in the Philippines.

  • This assignment seeks to assist in developing accessible climate change-related trainings and educational content from the perspective of disaster risk reduction and management - climate change adaptation mitigation
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need experience in web or software development including database design and development
  • You will be working alongside MDRRMO staff and occasionally with local communities


About the Partner Organisation 

The Local Government Unit of La Trinidad is in the capital town of Benguet and known as the Strawberry Capital of the Philippines and Salad Bowl of the North.  To date, LGU La Trinidad has over 606 employees with 319 permanent, 20 casuals, 240 job order and 10 GIP working at the 18 departments/ offices of the LGU one of which is the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).

La Trinidad Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office is mandated to set the direction, develop, implement and coordinate disaster risk management programs of the La Trinidad Local Government Unit.

Recently they have digitalised their content and established an accessible website and mobile phone app and require more efficiencies in delivering educational programs and services in DRRM.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
