About the Partner Organisation

The Kiritimati Urban Council is the most recently established of all councils in Kiribati. It is one of three Urban Councils in the country and is located in Tabakea Village on Kiritimati Island, part of the Line and Phoenix Islands in the Gilbert Group. One of the council’s major responsibilities each year is organizing full council meetings, providing a platform for councillors to bring forward issues from their communities.

There are eight preschools under the Kiritimati Urban Council, and there is a need for a volunteer to support these educators in enhancing their teaching capacity and guidance on best practices in preschool management. , ultimately
