Education & Training Mentor

We’re looking for an Education & Training Mentor who can live and volunteer in the Solomon Islands for 6 months.  

• As a volunteer, your contribution to the National sport education program will ultimately improve the quality of sport experience for many young people of the Solomon Islands. 
• To be considered for this role, you’ll need relevant tertiary qualifications in adult learning, education and coaching as well as experience in the delivery of competency based learning programs (preferably in sport, health or the education sector).
• Provide support to increase local staff capacity in the overall planning, promoting, developing, implementing and evaluating/monitoring of the national sport education program.

About the Partner Organisation 

The Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS), based in Honiara provides centralised performance services, programs and training facilities to 1200 athletes and 100 coaches on scholarships across 30 different sports. SINIS will soon be recognised as the Sports Education Hub for nationally certified Sport education programs and accreditations.

This volunteer role within a sport context will support SINIS' education team to deliver a variety of workshops, seminars, short courses, certified and accredited programs across different strands of specialities. You will be part of a broader sport education team that will promote and engage the community or staff to build the profile of the programs.
