 About the assignment

We’re looking for a Freshwater Social Research Assistant who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Indonesia

 

·      This assignment seeks to assist with the implementation of a scientific research program funded by the Australian Government.

·      To be considered for this role, you’ll need experience in qualitative research methods (e.g., participatory village surveys, key informant interviews, and document analysis)

·      As a volunteer, you will help facilitate cross-institutional collaboration with BRIN and other government or research agencies in Indonesia.

 

About the Partner Organisation 

Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional / The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Bogor has grown to become a “fresh modern research institution” by presenting quality research results and providing real benefits to the wider community.

 A volunteer is required to assist with the key component of the FishTech project, to provide technical assistance for the redesign of the fishways at the Poso site, along with detailed monitoring of the fishways’ effectiveness.

Requirements

·      All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV).

·      A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.

·      A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
