We’re looking for a Grant Development Specialist who can volunteer remotely from home for 6 months.

  • This assignment seeks to secure funding to sustain and expand RSPCA PNG’s Animal Shelter, Education Programs, and community awareness events, supporting the organization’s long-term stability and impact.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a degree or equivalent qualification in fundraising, communications, nonprofit management, international development, or a related field. Relevant experience in grant writing or donor relations may substitute for formal qualifications.
  • As a volunteer, you will support in ensuring the financial sustainability of RSPCA PNG’s services and outreach initiatives, allowing the organisation to continue its mission of protecting and caring for animals in Papua New Guinea.

About the Partner Organisation

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Papua New Guinea (RSPCA PNG) is a dedicated non-profit organisation focused on animal welfare, aiming to prevent cruelty and neglect while promoting responsible pet ownership. Established to address the growing need for animal care in PNG, RSPCA PNG operates an animal shelter that provides rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming services for abandoned and mistreated animals, giving them a safe space and a chance at a new life.

Beyond shelter services, RSPCA PNG actively engages in community outreach and education programs to promote public awareness of animal welfare and responsible care practices. By partnering with schools, communities, and government bodies, the organization fosters a cultural shift toward compassion and respect for animals. Their educational initiatives are designed to reduce cruelty cases and support policies that protect animals across the country.

This assignment aims to support RSPCA PNG in identifying potential donor grant organisations and establishing strategic connections to secure necessary funding. The primary tasks involve mapping RSPCA PNG’s programs to donor priorities, writing and submitting grant proposals, and securing either one-off or sustained funding to facilitate the organisation’s core activities.
