We’re looking for a Grants Officer who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) for 3 months then in-country for 3 months. 

  • You will be working alongside the team to create a comprehensive and adaptable fund raising strategy, to strengthen the organisation's ability to achieve its goals, and make a lasting impact on the communities it serves.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a qualification in business studies, communication or other related field along with experience in fundraising and grant writing.
  • As a volunteer, you will support the team to review existing approaches, identify new funding opportunities, and mentor local staff in grant writing, fundraising techniques, and donor relationship management.

About the Partner Organisation 

Inherit Your Rights is a non-governmental organisation (NGO), based in Arusha Tanzania. It seeks social justice for women and girls, though education and advocacy, for the eradication of gender-based injustice in Tanzania. The organisation's mission is to ensure women’s rights are known, respected and protected in the country ensuring the ability of women and girls to defend their rights and live free from violence and abuse.

Inherit Your Rights is a small organisation with limited resources, to ensure long-term sustainability and growth, the organisation is seeking volunteer support to develop a robust grants and fundraising strategy.

There are two allowances for a hybrid assignment.

The allowance for the in-country phase is AUD$ 1845 per month, the allowance for the part time remote phase is AUD$ 79 per month.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  
  • A First Aid Certificate must be attained.
