We’re looking for a Green Infrastructure and Climate Solutions Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Sri Lanka .
- This assignment seeks to provide expertise in conducting multi- layered vulnerability assessments related to climate change, urbanization and bio-diversity though an inclusive approach including the involvement of youth, women, the elderly, persons, children including people with disabilities, and other marginalized groups.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need Masters or above in Town and Country Planning, Urban Design or Urban Planning
- You will support to provide inputs to capacity building trainings for National and local governments on concept note development and proposal writing focusing on urban issues
- As a volunteer, you will support proposal development and resource mobilization
- Provide support in capacity building to project team and project partners on nature based solutions, eco systems based adaptation and green infrastructure
About the Partner Organisation
UN-Habitat, located in Colombo, supports the government in promoting sustainable urban development, including city planning, housing reconstruction, disaster risk reduction, and climate action. The organization focuses on improving access to water, sanitation, and livelihood recovery in urban areas, particularly in the Western and Northern Provinces. UN-Habitat requires volunteers to help address the shortage of skilled professionals, particularly in climate action, urban planning, and disaster risk management, all of which are essential to ensuring sustainable development and effective crisis prevention in Sri Lanka.

Requirements
- All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV).
- A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
- A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
Additional requirements for this assignment include a first aid certificate.
