We’re looking for a Horse Sanctuary and Equine Welfare & Rehabilitation Specialist who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Fiji.


  • This assignment seeks to support the development and management of Fiji’s first dedicated horse sanctuary which provides refuge and rehabilitation for horses rescued from neglect, abuse, and abandonment
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need experience in Equine, Sanctuary or farm management
  • You will be working alongside local staff and volunteers in best practices for horse handling, rehabilitation, and general care

About the Partner Organisation 

Animals Fiji (operated by West Charity Trust Society) is a registered Fiji charity (#889)under the Charitable Trusts Act (Cap. 67) with a focus on animal welfare. Their Mission is to improve the welfare of all animals - domesticated & wildlife - resulting in better lives for both the animal and humans of Fiji, while helping to build a society without animal cruelty.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include obtaining First Aid Certificate.
