We’re looking for a Land Regulation and Management Legal Advisor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Palau.


  • This assignment seeks to develop and update the land survey manual and develop compatible training to ensure capacity sustainability of the program.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Degree in Law (property), Land Surveying or Urban Planning and demonstrate proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • You will be working alongside the Minister of Public Infrastructure and Industries as well as the Director of the Bureau of Lands and Survey to support the development of the certification program.

About the Partner Organisation 

The Bureau of Lands & Surveys, based in Koror, is the principal authority responsible for the management, administration and sustainable development of the land resources in the Republic of Palau. They manage and administer Palau Land resources, ensuring compliance with land law regulations and policies, and overall play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of Palau's land resources.

The Bureau of Lands & Survey is seeking a qualified legal professional with the required skills and experience to undertake the crucial task of reviewing editing and /or promulgating new regulations to support its activities. The scope of the responsibility also extends beyond the Bureau, encompassing legal assignment of both Land and Survey and the Ministry of Public Infrastructure and Industries.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include obtaining First Aid Certificate.
