We’re looking for a Landscape Architect - Mentor and Support who canlive and volunteer for 12 months in Nepal.


  • This assignment seeks to support staff in producing a detailed master plan and construction drawings in collaboration with the Green Infrastructure Team for Tshalumarphey Ecological Park, Takin Preserve, and the Wangchhu River Corridor.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need Bachelor/Master of Landscape Architecture from one of the reputed universities of Australia
  • As a volunteer, you will provide technical guidance in planning, designing and executing the landscape projects


About the Partner Organisation 

The Department of Human Settlement under the Minstry of Infrastructure and Transport is a central agency responsible for promoting integrated and sustainable living environment that enables continued enhancement of our country's values and provides opportunities for positive socio-economic development. The mission of the Department is to promote safe, secure, responsible and responsive human settlements through preparation of planning strategies and physical development plans that are consistent with the national development polices. Through the expertise of the volunteer landscape architect, the Department will not only be able to deliver their mandate of planning, designing, and implementing the Tshalumpahey and Wangchu River Corridor Master Plan but also build the human resource capacity of the department to carry out similar projects in the future on their own. In addition, they will be able to guide and build the capacity of the local government and relevant agencies in line with their mandate to carry out similar projects.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
