We’re looking for a Legislative Specialist who can live and volunteer for 9 months in Palau.


  • This assignment seeks to strengthen capacity within the Palau Office to enable for them to successfully compile, codify, annotate and publish the Palau National Code.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need experience in legislative work, legislative drafting and/or codification.  
  • You will be working alongside the Chair of the Code Commission and the Managing Editor of the PALAU Office to publish the 19th Supplement to the Palau National Code.

About the Partner Organisation 

 The Publication and Law Access Unit Office (PALAU Office) is responsible for carrying out the mission of codifying and publishing the laws of Palau through the publication of regular supplements to the PNC (Palau National Code). The PALAU Office is responsible for compiling the Palau National Code Annotated (PNCA) to show the history of the public laws and relevant case law from the Supreme Court of Palau.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include obtaining a First Aid Certificate.
