We’re looking for an Occupational Therapist who can volunteer on a hybrid assignment which includes volunteering remotely (from home) for 3 months and the completing an in country assignment in Nepal for 7 months and then completing a remote assignment from home for 2 months with a total assignment completion of 12 months. 

  • You’ll be helping to shape the organisation's staff development in delivering occupational therapy and sensory integration therapy services.
  • You’ll need a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy or related field as well and has proven work experience as an OT.
  • You’ll be contributing to the capacity and staff development of Nepal’s only organisation working for autistic community. 

About the Partner Organisation

Autism Care Nepal Society (ACNS) is the only active autism society in Nepal. It is run by passionate parents of children with autism. ACNS is actively engaged in advocacy and creating awareness of the rights of people with autism. In addition, ACNS is involved in capacity building of people with autism, their parents and caregivers and providing professional development in the field of autism in Nepal.

ACNS hopes to work with international organisations to share information and resources and assist families and children at a national level, while striving to maintain their network with families and professionals worldwide. ACNS aims to help and support persons with autism, their parents and caregivers to achieve an improved quality of living and inclusion in society.

We cover your flights, insurance, and provide a living and accommodation allowance. Learn more here

Allowance figures are pro-rata, per month.

In-country phase allowance is $1630

Remote phase allowance figures are $131 (full-time), $79 (part-time)

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens. 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
  • Additional requirements include First Aid Certificate.
