We’re looking for a Occupational Therapist who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) for 3 months then in-country for 3 months.

  • As a volunteer, you will support the organisation to increase happiness, health, and quality of life for vulnerable individuals living with disabilities as well as their community by integrating a global perspective of practices in rehabilitation .
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a formal qualification as an occupational therapist, along with practical experience in providing therapy services, ideally in diverse settings or international contexts.
  • You will be working alongside the team to review practices in existing rehabilitation services in the community and capacity building them through workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one mentoring.

About the Partner Organisation

The Maisha Outreach Organisation, based in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, is a registered Non-Government Organisation (NGO) who believe in empowering and supporting individuals living with disabilities to reignite their “moto wa maisha” – the fire of life (in Kiswahili). To achieve this, the organisation provides access to sustainable rehabilitation therapies that are crucial in reducing the vulnerability and isolation for those living with a disability in Tanzania.

MOTO empowers individuals living with disabilities by enhancing local rehabilitation practices. The involvement of an Occupational Therapist volunteer will be pivotal in strengthening the capacity of local staff through skills transfer and the introduction of international expertise with a global perspective. By engaging international volunteers, MOTO aims to build a global network of ambassadors, broadening the reach and influence of their mission to create lasting, positive change in the lives of those served.
