We’re looking for a Physiotherapist Mentor who can live and volunteer in the Solomons for 12 months.
- As a volunteer, your contribution to SINIS through the multidisciplinary team will ultimately improve the quality of the sporting experience for many young people of the Solomon Islands.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need a tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and a minimum of 2 years experience ideally in the sporting field.
- You will be working alongside the team to Increase local capacity in the assessment of athletes and the development of relevant injury management and rehabilitation plans.
About the Partner Organisation
The Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS), based in Honiara, is an initiative of the Solomon Islands Government, to support athletes, coaches and National Federations of the Solomon Islands who compete at international competitions, including sports that represent Team Solomons at major multi-sport events. SINIS provides centralised performance services, programs and training facilities to 1200 athletes and 100 coaches on scholarships across 30 different sports.
SINIS are looking for a volunteer who is passionate about sport and the opportunity to work with athletes, coaches and local staff in the Solomons. The volunteer would be part of a multidisciplinary team who holistically support athlete and coach programs as they prepare for many levels of training and competition environments. Quality service delivery as well as knowledge and skills sharing are critical elements to positive outcomes of the assignment.

Requirements
- All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV).
- A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
- A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
Additional requirements for this assignment include attaining a First Aid Certificate.
