We’re looking for a Project Development Officer who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 6 months.

  • This assignment seeks to support the development of a project proposal related to beekeeping for smallholder farmers in Cambodia
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need experience in developing project proposals for research/international donors
  • As a volunteer, you will undertake mapping of potential donors/partners & identify suitable project partners/ donors

About the Partner Organisation

The Department of Industrial Crops and Agricultural Cooperatives, under the supervision of the Deputy Director General, is looking for the support of an Australian volunteer to identify opportunities and develop project proposals that will support income generation for smallholder farmers, especially those who aren't landowners. The Department has identified beekeeping as a potential opportunity for smallholder farmers who have lost their land because it is a very low investment and very effective. The volunteer will work with the Department of Industrial Crops and Agricultural Cooperatives, under the supervision of the Deputy Director General, to identify potential international donors and develop suitable project/fund proposals with an initial focus on beekeeping. The role will include an in-country phase to assist with introductions to key stakeholders, fieldwork, and information gathering to enable a good understanding of the context of Cambodian smallholder farmers. This will be followed by a remote phase working from Australia, focusing on liaising with international agencies and supporting the completion and submission of a project proposal to a suitable agency.
