We’re looking for a Quality Infrastructure Advisor  who canlive and volunteer for 12 months in Fiji.

  • This assignment seeks to assist The Department of National Measurement and Standards in identifying and prioritizing Quality Infrastructure needs in line with government priorities and development strategies.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Master’s degree in Engineering/Science/Economics and International Trade/Law and International Relations or a degree in Business administration/Policy or Development
  • As a volunteer, you will support and assist with the promotion of the importance of setting up a national quality infrastructure to relevant government stakeholders to: increase market access through growth in exports and investment opportunities. 

About the Partner Organisation 

The Department of National Measurement and Standards (Department) is an agency under the Ministry of Trade, Co-operatives, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications (Ministry).

The Department is responsible for the implementation of laws and regulations that protect consumers from using unsafe and poor-quality products and it develops national and international standards to raise levels of quality and safety of products and services.

The Department also regulates the trade of scrap metal to prevent the illegal trade of public infrastructure metal. In following the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation QI principles, the Ministry seeks to recognise the formulation of a Quality Policy which sets the legal framework within the National Quality Infrastructure.

We are looking for a qualified Australian volunteer who can assist The Department in identifying and prioritizing Quality Infrastructure needs in line with government priorities and development strategies.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  
  • A First Aid Certificate will be required for all successful candidates
