UN Global Pulse is looking for a Social Systems Mentor who can live and volunteer for 6 months in Jakarta, Indonesia.


  • This assignment seeks to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality, policy-relevant research by guiding local staff in research methodologies, data collection, and analysis to support evidence-based decision-making. This includes reviewing research outputs, providing constructive feedback, and helping to refine research frameworks. 
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences (development studies, psychology, anthropology, sociology, economics, international relations)
  • As a volunteer, you will support the development and dissemination of research products and other social systems activities by assisting in drafting reports, policy briefs, and knowledge-sharing materials. The volunteer will also help organize workshops, discussions, and networking opportunities to amplify research impact.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
