We’re looking for a Strategic Plan and Project Support Officer who can live and volunteer in Vanuatu for preferably 18 months. 


  • This assignment seeks to strengthen the partner's capacities in the development a strategic plan and assist identify, design and implement projects that aligned with the strategic plan. 
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Urban planning or related fields with, ideally five years experience in urban/town/regional planning with a focus on strategic planning.  
  • You will be working the Provincial Planner and Assistant Secretary General and staff of the Provincial Government Administration headed by the Secretary General.

 

About the Partner Organisation 

Malampa Provincial Government Council is one of the 6 provincial governments of Vanuatu established under Vanuatu Decentralization Act of Parliament. The headquarters is located on Malekula Island. It is responsible directly and or complimenting national government programs and services like regional planning, primary health care, preschool and primary education, roads, agriculture, tourism and recreational development in the province.


The provincial government requires an expert planner to develop and train local colleagues in developing long-term plans as well as short-term development strategies improving the focus and effectiveness of the Provincial Government service delivery and development opportunities.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
