We’re looking for a Strength and Conditioning Coach Mentor who can live and volunteer for 2 months in Palau. 

  • You will be supporting the team that work with athletes through programs that are designed to enhance physical preparation and injury prevention.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need tertiary qualifications in Sport & Exercise Science, a minimum of level 1 ASCA (or similar) Strength & Conditioning qualifications and at least 2 years of experience in this field.
  • Provide support with learning opportunities that grow the competency and capability of the local staff/ volunteers within the multidisciplinary team or athlete support personnel.

About the Partner Organisation 

The Palau National Olympic Committee (PNOC), based in Koror, with a close relationship with the Government of Palau, works to assist with the development of sport in the country. It also fulfils its mandate to select, prepare and lead athletes to the Olympic Games, Pacific Games and the Micronesia Games. With the upcoming Pacific Mini Games in June 2025, being held in Palau, PNOC is seeking the support of a Sports Management Mentor as part of a short term team assignment.

The assignment will provide a platform for the support of the holistic development of athletes from a wide range of international sports. The volunteer would work to build the capacity of local staff and volunteers who act in the roles of S&C coaches, trainers, rehabilitation or sport coaches through structured learning, training & development opportunities.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
