We’re looking for a Tourism Digital Marketing Mentor who would live and volunteer in Kiribati for 6 months. 

  • This assignment seeks to capacity build the team to develop digital marketing and communication strategies and contribute to the updating of tourism marketing plans.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need Bachelor’s degree in tourism digital marketing or media or equivalent as well as experience in a digital marketing position in any recognized institution in Australia or another country.
  • As a volunteer, you will contribute to updating tourism communication for the region.

About the Partner Organisation 

The Tourism Authority of Kiribati (TAK) has it's headquarters in Betio in Tarawa and a sub-division in Kiritimati Island. TAK is a state-owned enterprise which was established to lead the promotion and marketing of Kiribati as a sustainable tourism destination. TAK strives to increase the value of benefits from tourism operations while ensuring sustainable practices and preserving Kiribati’s pristine environment and unique culture.

This assignment will be carried out at the TAK office based in Kiritimati Island where the volunteer will work closely with the Marketing and Promotion Unit (MPU). The focus will be on developing the online platforms and building the capacity of both MPU officers and tourism operators in this area. Kiritimati Island has been designated as the development hub in the future for tourism and fisheries and the volunteer will support the building of awareness of the region.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include attaining a First Aid Certificate.
