We’re looking for a Vocational English Training & Development Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Mongolia. 

  • This assignment seeks to improve the technical English teaching skills of TVET English teachers to better equip their students for the workforce.

  • As a volunteer, you will support in providing professional development for TVET teachers, including training in instructional methodologies, the use of ICT tools for teaching, English for Specific Purposes, and developing teachers' English language proficiency.

About the Partner Organisation 

The National University of Mongolia (NUM) is a major intellectual center with 6 schools, 3 local schools, 3 national institutes, and other research centers, as well as undergraduate and graduate students, scholars and faculty staff. The vision of the National University of Mongolia was defined in the Strategic Plan for the Development for 2024-2030 as “The vision of the National University of Mongolia is to become a world-class university. The assignment will support the COEE's mission to enhance the capacity of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in Mongolia by improving the technical English proficiency of English instructors and students. This is essential for creating a skilled workforce capable of meeting the demands of modern industry and the global economy.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
